Dodger hit by car needs funds for vet bills
UPDATE - DODGER IS OUT OF SHELTER BUT NEEDS VETTING FUNDS
Thanks so much to Ellen who pulled this sweet dog! she reports:
I took the dog to my vet, Braelinn Village Animal Hospital , 770-486-0077, Peachtree City , GA. I named him Dodger, cause he should have dodged the car. His left rear leg is broken in 2 places, no damage to his pelvis. His underbelly, scrotum area and entire under tail are badly scraped and after having no medical attention for over a week, he has infection all over. He has been wormed, waiting on bloodwork for heartworm and any other problems before he undergoes surgery tomorrow to put 2 plates in his leg. He has feeling and motion in his toes, but if orthopedic surgeon see extensive nerve damage, we will amputate the leg. That’s all I know for now. He is very sweet, wagging his tail, vet said he must be in terrible pain with the leg and infection, have him on pain meds. He will be neutered also tomorrow. They say he’s no more than 1 ½ yrs old. Beagle mix.
