Momma & babies have been rescued! They have been rescued by Sanctuary
Animal Refuge, a wonderful animal rescue and sanctuary located in
Florida. Mom and pups will be staying in Georgia until they are healthy
enough to make the trip to Florida. Mom went straight to a vet and will
stay there as long as is needed. Momma was actually already starting to
look a little better. She had gained 5 pounds during her 4 day stay at
animal control and she was starting to wag her tail.

If you were interested in rescuing these dogs, please consider rescuing
some other animals in their place. We have several hundred animals at
our shelter who are in need of help. We currently have two other sets of
moms and pups and a number of momma cats with kittens. We have countless

This poor starving momma dog and her 7 puppies were surrendered to DeKalb Animal Services on Friday. Her former owners were taken to jail and are being charged with animal cruelty. Mom gave absolutely everything she had to her puppies. They look very good compared to their mother. The mother is the skinniest dog that I have ever seen that can still stand. The pups have been separated from her because she is too weak and unhealthy to be able to care for them. They are really not old enough to be separated from her but that is the best option that they have. We immediately called someone to come and rescue the runt of the litter because she was only half the size of the other pups and was not eating on her own. She is now with a rescue and is in a foster home. The other 6 pups are doing fairly well are are able to eat on their own. Mom and the other 6 pups are in immediate need of rescue. These dogs, especially Mom need to know that humans are capable of love and care and compassion. Please contact me ASAP if you are able to rescue Mom and/or her pups. this is way too sad. How can people do this?? I just cannot understand why people can be so cruel to helpless creatures. :'(
ReplyDeleteomg..Im not shocked coz this is what our world has come to..So many people just care for themselfs...Personally i think EVERY single person who has a dog should be vetted.No one should be allowed a animal unless you have been thru through checks and are mentally able to look after an animal...the people who done this will be free to do it again....i personally dont think the laws on animal cruelity are strict enough. That poor mum and her babies.
