URGENT Brother & so many in need at Athens

Brother is here with his other littermate (not listed as he is currently unavailable). Brother is a 73-lb retriever mix who reminds me of a fluffy-coated chocolate lab. He and his identical sibling were just picked up the other day and are a bit wary of strangers. However, they both will walk up and sniff you curiously and gently if you crouch down low and remain quiet. They seem to be feeding off each other’s uneasiness and probably will do much better in two separate homes. When I took Brother out, he was happy to explore the interaction area, pottied right away, and pleasantly sought my attention. Brother is currently experiencing some hair loss on his head, but it doesn’t seem to bother him one bit. If you have a love for bigger dogs, PLEASE come see Brother! His chances may not be too high because of his big size and current (but mild) skin problem- but please don’t pass him up! He’d make a great family pet if given the chance!
Update 9/28: Brother is running out time here at the pound. Please hurry and put in an application for this handsome dog.

RESCUED Starved Momma Dog & Her Puppies at DeKalb Animal Services-Need IMMEDIATE Rescue
UPDATE-
Momma & babies have been rescued! They have been rescued by Sanctuary
Animal Refuge, a wonderful animal rescue and sanctuary located in
Florida. Mom and pups will be staying in Georgia until they are healthy
enough to make the trip to Florida. Mom went straight to a vet and will
stay there as long as is needed. Momma was actually already starting to
look a little better. She had gained 5 pounds during her 4 day stay at
animal control and she was starting to wag her tail.

If you were interested in rescuing these dogs, please consider rescuing
some other animals in their place. We have several hundred animals at
our shelter who are in need of help. We currently have two other sets of

This poor starving momma dog and her 7 puppies were surrendered to DeKalb Animal Services on Friday. Her former owners were taken to jail and are being charged with animal cruelty. Mom gave absolutely everything she had to her puppies. They look very good compared to their mother. The mother is the skinniest dog that I have ever seen that can still stand. The pups have been separated from her because she is too weak and unhealthy to be able to care for them. They are really not old enough to be separated from her but that is the best option that they have. We immediately called someone to come and rescue the runt of the litter because she was only half the size of the other pups and was not eating on her own. She is now with a rescue and is in a foster home. The other 6 pups are doing fairly well are are able to eat on their own. Mom and the other 6 pups are in immediate need of rescue. These dogs, especially Mom need to know that humans are capable of love and care and compassion. Please contact me ASAP if you are able to rescue Mom and/or her pups. Please forward this on to anyone you know who may like to help. Photos are attached. The photos of Mom are graphic.

Please help Yogi!!

Yogi is about 1 1/2 to 2 years old. He is a very, very sweet and loving dog. He is already neutered and he's heartworm negative. He knows how to "sit" and "shake." He has a broken leg that has a splint right now and he's been on pain meds. He is going to get the leg x-rayed and I will have an update on him when we do this. He has been dewormed and had advantix applied.
Update: Yogi has a broken Tibia and will need surgery to have a plate put in.
We are trying to raise funds to get Yogi the surgery he needs and then we will find a wonderful forever home for him
