UPDATE:
RESCUED!
This family has made so much progress! The kittens RUN over to see anyone who comes in the room......and mommy is actually letting us pet her and pick her right up! Time is almost up and we have not had one inquiry. PLEASE can everyone exhaust all resources and help these precious lives find safety. I will take some updated photos of the kits tomorrow.
Please contact me ASAP if you have any leads.
Thank you!
Betsy~
Mommy and her 5 kits are in the feral room since Mommy is scared to death and cannot tolerate all that is happening to her. Today I was able to pick up each baby without issue [mom did not budge] and she even let me scruff her and give her a look over. She does not choose to come over but she will let me reach in and touch her and pick her up slowly.
The kittens are adorable and perfect! Very curious fat little butterballs. 3 Torties and 2 black tabbies.
I am not going to write some sappy story, here is the bottom line. The kittens that make it to weaning without getting sick might get a chance to go up for adoption in the kitten room and mom will be put down. The sad reality of what our community forces the shelter to deal with. Overpopulation plain and simple.
Every life in here deserves a chance. Every life is precious and a creation of something greater than us. Please exhaust all resources and see if you can come up with something for this family. I know Mommy wants to be loved, she is just needs to learn its safe to trust.
If you choose to send this post to out of state contacts please be prepared to use your local license to pull the family and help your out of state contact arrange transport.
